TRENDING: Real Madrid supporters burn Mbappe’s shirt in Paris

Real Madrid fans mocked Kylian Mbappe and burned a replica PSG shirt of his during Champions League celebrations in Paris on Saturday.

The Blancos claimed the Champions League at Stade de France after beating Liverpool 1-0 thanks to a goal from Vinicius Junior.

However, an interesting subplot to the game revolved around Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe had seemed destined to join Real Madrid this summer but completed a dramatic turnaround by penning a three-year extension with PSG last Saturday evening.

All season long, it had been unanimously accepted that he would sign for Madrid on a Bosman transfer.

Having rejected a €200 million bid from Real Madrid for Mbappe last summer, the Frenchman was believed to have already agreed a free transfer move to the club he supported as a child.

This was reinforced by the fact that he rejected numerous offers of a PSG extension throughout the campaign.

But, in a shock twist, Mbappe decided to sign a new deal at PSG. And Madrid fans in Paris mocked Mbappe for his decision to reject the club.

Hundreds of Madrid fans were recorded swearing and chanting against Mbappe before, during and after the game – both inside and outside the stadium.

One Blanco was captured on camera holding up an Mbappe shirt with ‘0 Champions Leagues; printed on the back.

But most sinister of all, a group of Madrid fans were caught lighting and burning an Mbappe PSG shirt outside the Stade de France. Madrid will now look to alternatives to Mbappe ahead of next season.

AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, who was named Serie A Player of the Year after leading the Rossoneri to the Scudetto, is believed to be one of the main players on Madrid’s shortlist.
